Proteome Profiling Arrays
Proteome Profiler™ Antibody Arrays are simple and economical multiplex assays for early-stage discovery research. Proteome profiling offers an invaluable tool for researchers to explore the vast breadth and depth of proteins and peptides to better understand protein structure, localization, function, and interactions.
Proteome Profiler™ Antibody Arrays allow for the measurement of up to 119 proteins in a single sample. It requires no specialized equipment and eliminates the need for multiple Western blot experiments. Antibody array kits contain buffers, detection antibodies, and membranes spotted in duplicate with high quality capture antibodies. The arrays utilize chemiluminescence for detection data that can be quantified in the same manner as traditional Western blots.
Antibody Array Principle
- Capture antibodies are spotted in duplicate on the nitrocellulose membrane.
- Spotted membrane arrays are incubated in a single lysate.
- Target analytes are captured by the capture antibody.
- Target analytes are detected using a biotinylated or horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated detection antibody.
- Biotinylated detection antibodies are reacted with streptavidin HRP.
- Membranes are incubated in a chemiluminescence reagent that produces a light signal proportional to the amount of antibody-target analyte complexes formed.
- Data is visualized using standard western blotting methods such as film or digital cameras.
